Bishop Auckland will be trying to avenge last season's FA Cup embarrassment when they play Flixton at Dean Street on Sunday.
Bishops lost to Northern Counties East League club Rossington in their first game of the competition in a replay last season, one of their worst performances in recent history.
And manager Brian Honour said: "I wasn't manager here at the time, but that defeat still hurts the fans, players and officials.
"We want to do well in the competition, not only for the prestige of doing well, but also for financial reasons.
"I still think we haven't yet played to our maximum in any of our games. We've been good in spells, but we're not quite there yet.
Meanwhile, Honour may give midfielder Carl Heineger an outing on Sunday against the North West Counties League side.
The youngster was part of the Team Bath side which reached the first round proper last season, upsetting several clubs along the way.
Tickets are still available for Bishops' sportsmen's dinner on 08700 551557.
Whitby have signed former Middlesbrough striker Mark Ormerod, and he scored on his debut in the 3-1 defeat at Frickley on Monday afternoon. Ormerod was with Scarborough last season.
Spennymoor United manager Alex Mathie has submitted seven days' notice of approach for four players.
Moors have started the season inconsistently. A poor performance against Blyth last week was followed by a much better show against Worksop last Saturday, but Moors sank back to their previous standard when they were beaten 2-0 at Wakefield and Emley on Monday.
It is understood that the four players concerned are playing for Northern League clubs.
Meanwhile, Anthony Shandran, Chris Lynch and David Goodchild are all struggling to be fit for tomorrow's home game against Hucknall. Moors have exemption to the second qualifying round of the Cup next month.
Whitby have signed former Darlington full back Simon Betts, who joins former teammates Paul Campbell and Adam Reed at the club. Betts was a regular at Feethams for two seasons, but left at the end of last season after he failed to agree a new deal.
