A GROUP of shipyard workers have vowed never to return to work after winning the jackpot on the National Lottery.
Peter Gillan, 43, of North Tyneside, John Kelly, 52, of Gateshead, Richard Robson, 37, of Fenham, Newcastle, Andrew Gill, 25, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, and Brian Dinsdale, 43, of Sunderland, were working at the Swan Hunter shipyard, in Wallsend, when their numbers came up in the work syndicate.
The men only started working at the shipyard a fortnight ago, and are keen to never return to their jobs.
They won £3.2m, with each member getting £640,000.
At the weekend, they toasted their luck in front of the Largs Bay, the ship they had been working on as platers.
The win ends an amazing two weeks for Mr Robson, who lives with his partner Sandra.
Two weeks ago, his son, Jake, was born, then he got the job at Swan Hunter, before he hit the jackpot.
He said: "It is fantastic and I cannot wait to start spending the money. I will not be back in this job again. If I need to work again, I will, but it won't be in the shipyards.
"It has been the most amazing time of my life."
Mr Dinsdale has also been enjoying a run of luck, with a £500 win on the Irish lottery earlier in the week.
All five are planning luxury holidays with their families while they decide what to spend the winnings on
