A MAN is due in court today over the death of a 29-year-old last week.
The unnamed 38-year-old, who lives in Newcastle, will appear before the city's magistrates this morning charged with the murder of Lee Johnson.
Mr Johnson, a single man, who lived in a block of flats at Blagdon Close, in the Battlefield area of the city, died early on Friday at Newcastle General Hospital.
He was wounded after a disturbance at his home, at about 11pm on Thursday. A man was arrested shortly afterwards.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw the disturbance, or the events leading to Mr Johnson's death, to come forward.
