AN artist from Taiwan is coming to the region to introduce youngsters to a traditional festival.
The Moon Festival is a Chinese celebration of family reunion and the harvest day.
Artist Chun Chao Chiu will be at the Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology, in Durham, on Saturday.
He will explain the story of the Moon Festival to children aged over eight and help them make Chinese lanterns.
Anh Mao, the museum's arts and culture facilitator, said: "On mid-autumn night, the full moon is especially bright.
"The whole family gathers together eating moon cakes while admiring the moon in its perfect splendour."
An exhibition of watercolours by Mr Chiu will also be on display, as well photographs of Taiwan.
