The following cases were heard by South Durham magistrates sitting in Darlington yesterday.
VIOLENCE CHARGE: Darren Sheen, 24, of Haughton Road, Darlington, was charged with using or threatening unlawful violence and damaging a car windscreen. The case was adjourned until September 16. He was granted unconditional bail.
DAMAGE DENIED: Kenneth Wilson, 27, of Dent Street, Tindale Crescent, Bishop Auckland, denied damaging a Mitsubishi. The case was adjourned for a pre-trial review on October 7. He was granted unconditional bail.
CHARGE DROPPED: The case against Gareth Morgan, 21, of Myrtle Gardens, Darlington, who was accused of assault causing actual bodily harm, was dismissed after the prosecution offered no evidence.
CASE ADJOURNED: David Saint, 27, of Hercules Street, Darlington, denied damaging a window belonging to Cheronie Lynch and threatening to damage her property. The case was adjourned until October 7. He was granted bail on condition he does not interfere with prosecution witnesses.
HARASSMENT CHARGE: Ian Sheriff, 44, of Dodds Street, Darlington, was charged with harassing his ex-wife. Maureen Sheriff, 33, of Minors Crescent, Darlington, was jointly charged with the same offence. The case was adjourned until October 7 and both were granted bail on condition they live at their homes addresses and do not contact the alleged victim.
BAIL GRANTED: The case against Lynton Heslop, 35, of Brighton Road, Darlington, was adjourned until September 23. Mr Heslop is charged with six motoring offences and two of failing to surrender to bail. He was granted unconditional bail.
