VILLAGERS have been told they may soon get a long-awaited footpath linking two communities.
Darlington Borough Council's highways department says it is considering details of a scheme to provide a footpath between Neasham and Hurworth, near Darlington.
In April, an unexpected windfall of £25,000 was announced from Castlebeck Care as part of the planning agreement to convert the Newbus Arms hotel into a residential centre for autistic adults.
Councillor Eric Miller, acting chairman of the parish council, said: "At least this is a step in the right direction."
