A campaign to create a sports area in Middleton Tyas has received a £1,000 boost.
Villagers want to create a multi-use sports area, with the help of a £100,000 grant from the lottery-run Opportunities Fund.
The plan includes changing rooms and equipment store.
The most recent donation was made by North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op's dividend scheme.
The village's own target is £35,000.
