HOUSING association tenants have been showing off their gardening skills.
More than 20 gardens and displays were entered in the B and N (North-East) Ltd regional gardening competition.
Organisers said the annual contest attracted a high standard of entries.
Winning the sheltered housing category were Mary Ross and Adrienne Calvert, of Arlington Court, Stockton.
The winners of the other home category were John and Pauline Wiggall of Bolden Colliery, for the second year running. Thomas and Mary Robins, of Teesdale, won first prize in the container garden category.
Six-year-old Sophie Aspen, from Stockton, won the young green fingers category.
B and N chairwoman Anne Mumford said: "It was extremely difficult for me as a judge to make my final decision, as the standard was so high.
"Everyone who entered the competition should consider themselves winners as they create pride in the community."
