TIME is running out to catch a four-legged fugitive which has been running loose on Sedgefield Racecourse for the past few weeks.
With a meeting due on Friday, staff are worried that the elusive stray black and white dog could get onto the track and disrupt the action.
They have offered a reward to anyone who can catch the collie, nicknamed Dwain after sprinter Dwain Chambers, but he has evaded all efforts to bring him to heel.
Amy Starkey, the racecourse's commercial executive, said: "People have offered to give him a home, but nobody can catch him. We don't want him to come to any harm."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the racecourse on (01740) 621925
