Controversial former Middlesbrough striker Fabrizio Ravanelli wants to resurrect his career in England with First Division strugglers Coventry City.
The 'White Feather' is ready to float back to the Midlands after being released by Derby County at the end of last season.
One-time Derby teammate Craig Burley is training with the Sky Blues and 34-year-old Ravanelli has asked him to help arrange a trial with Gary McAllister's side.
Ravanelli, a club record signing when he joined Boro from Juventus seven years ago in a £7m deal, was sold to Marseille just over a season later for £5.3m after falling out with then-manager Bryan Robson and going AWOL.
He later returned to his native Italy with Lazio before moving to Derby two seasons ago.
Meanwhile, Boro full-back Stuart Parnaby will today learn the full extent of the knee injury he sustained in Saturday's 3-2 home defeat by Leeds.
Parnaby is booked to see a specialist after undergoing scans on Monday.
Boro fear the England Under-21 international may have suffered cruciate ligament damage.
l Boro centre-back Andrew Davies, whose late howler handed Mark Viduka the chance to seal victory for Leeds, yesterday received the perfect tonic when he was called up to the England Under-21 squad for the European Championship games in Macedonia tomorrow and against Portugal at Goodison Park on Tuesday
l Charlton's Scott Parker has avoided a three-match suspension after the red card he picked up in the 4-0 victory over Wolves on August 23 was rescinded by the Football Association, writes DAVID CRISP.
The England U21 midfielder was given a straight red for a second-half challenge on Kevin Cooper and looked set to miss vital Barclaycard Premiership clashes against Manchester United and Aston Villa as well as the Addicks' Carling Cup tie against Luton Town.
Parker told the club's website: ''I'm delighted not to have to serve a ban.
"Manchester United at home and Aston Villa away are two massive games for us and I'm over the moon that I won't have to sit them out.
''I've always maintained the tackle was a hard but fair one and I'm grateful to the disciplinary commission for looking at the incident again.''
