Emergency Services League: Frankland were big winners this week, with a surprising eight-goal victory over Sedgefield. The opposition had plenty of players, but had no answer to a second half onslaught. Frankland had scored twice in the first half, but went on a goal spree later on. Elliott Sharp went one better than his brace last week, registering the first hat trick of the season. Paul Walton scored twice and there was a goal each for Ian Gibson, Mal Penney and Phil Tinmouth.
Tyne and Wear got started this week and put Darlington to the sword, winning 7-1.
Paul Russell (2), Steve Burns, Gareth Edwards, Jonathan Cook, Ronnie Page and Gary Smailes got the goals for the champions. Phil Muir got Darlington's consolation, with Dave Parker picking up man of the match.
Stockton remain unbeaten, with their 3-2 win at home to Derwentside. They came from behind twice to secure the victory. Chris Knight gave the visitors a first half lead with a deflected shot. Jimmy Allen volleyed a spectacular equaliser for Stockton. Andy Liddell restored Derwentside's lead with a shot from ten yards. Just when they looked as though they would hold on to the points, despite carrying two injured players, Stockton scored two hotly disputed late goals through Paul Eastwick and Matt Reeves.
Durham HQ were solitary goal winners over close rivals Durham Fire Brigade, with Tony Hutchinson getting the only goal of the game.
Crook and
District League
Newcomers Coundon and Leeholme Juniors extended their unbeaten run to four games when they came from behind to beat Willington WMC. Stephen Lee opened the scoring for Willington and Anthony Darke equalised. The Coundon winner came from Andrew Hodgson two minutes from time.
West Auckland Queens Head returned to winning form with a victory over Howden Australian. Darren Wilson opened the scoring direct from a corner and two second half goals from Anthony Bailes made it 3-0. The margin flattered Queens Head as Australian had their chances.
Rugby Club remain unbeaten but were held at home by Stanley United who took the lead through Lee Nelson. Stuart Breckon and Matthew Tyrie turned the game in favour of Rugby Club but Nelson notched his second to earn Stanley a point.
Andy Lee scored four, one penalty, for Stanhope Town who beat Byers Green St Peters 5-3. Simon Pugh completed the Stanhope total and Ian Brown replied with a hat trick for Byers Green who were always in arrears.
Roddymoor are unbeaten in four games after a 3-1 win against Crook White Swan. James Ivil (2) and man of the match Barry Thompson scored for Roddymoor and Kevin Carter was on target for the losers.
Tow Law Station had a good first half and turned round just one down at home to Evenwood White Swan. Evenwood were well on top in the second half and went on to win 5-0 through Gary Dowson (4) and Paul Jobling.
