Durham Alliance: Belford House top of the league with two consecutive wins.
A 1-0 success on Wednesday against Seaham Town Community a d a 3-1 win at home to Shildon Railway to go a point above Hartlepool Town having played a game more. Belford went 1-0 up against Shildon Railway in 25 minutes with a penalty from Mark Green. Their lead was cancelled out just after half time when Tim Holborn tapped the ball in the net from a mix up in the penalty area. A neat volley by Martin Deacon from 12 yards put Belford back in the lead after 70 minutes. Then a cracking shot five minutes later from Michael Conner sealed for Belford.
Durham City Reserves' secretary Tanjit Sangha could not believe the way his side scored eight goals with ease against Whitehill FC and see his defence concede four. They were second best in football terms in the first half but went into the break with a 4-0 lead. The second half was the same but with goal coming easily for both teams. Durham's marksmen were John Wardle, Dean Wardle, Stephen Wilson, Stephen Jackson, Gavin Wilson and Michael Conner with a hat trick. Darren Burnham replied with a hat trick for Whitehill and Danny Bankhead scoring the other.
Simonside Social Club went down 4-2 at home to Durham Victoria Bridge. They trailed when Ronnie Barker put Durham in front in the 16th minute. Two goals by Ray Simpson and Ronnie Walton put Simonside 2-1 up in the first half and looked comfortable with the lead until the 70 minute when Durham Vic hit them with three goals in eight minutes. Ronnie Barker levelled the score the two came from Kane Hobson to gave Durham Vic the three points.
Coxhoe Athletic beat Seaham Town Community 2-0. A lazy clearance by a Seaham defender gave the ball to Kevin Bush who then crossed for Gary Turton to beat the keeper from 10 yards. The second came in 50 minutes when Gary O'Hara hit a screamer.
Seaham Mallard beat Durham University 3-2 at home. Paul Carr put the Uni in front with a cracking shot from 25 yards in the 20th minute. In the 52nd minute Mallard were level, Darren Slee hitting the top corner of the net. Graham Rose made it 2-1 for the Mallard when his shot from 30 yards dipped over the keeper. Dave Forster made it 2-2 for the Uni in 79 minutes. The Barry Cougle earned the three points for the Mallard with a drive which scrambled over the goal line the keeper thinking he had it saved.
Two Goals from David Fort and one each from Paul and Michael Eilles gave Brandon Prince Bishop a 4-1 win away to Gateshead A, Kenneth Boyle scoring for the home side.
Hartlepool Town were rampant in the 6-0 win over Ebchester FC. Neil Swift was outstanding getting four of the goals with Dave Forster getting the other two.
