PEOPLE planning on taking a holiday abroad can visit a new travel clinic at a Middlesbrough hospital.
Would-be holidaymakers and business travellers can call at the one-stop travel clinic at James Cook University Hospital for the latest advice and information about planning healthy travelling and avoiding health risks.
Health promotion staff will also be available to provide advice about what immunisations are needed for the different countries and offer on-the-spot medication such as malaria pills.
Consultant in infectious disease, Dr David Chadwick, who is running the clinic said: "More and more people are travelling abroad these days and visiting more exotic and far away places around the world.
"By getting the most up-to- date advice before you go, and the necessary immunisations and treatments, travellers can make the most of their holidays and enjoy peace of mind that they are well protected."
The first of the weekly Wednesday afternoon clinics started this week in the family unit.
People wanting to make an appointment at the travel clinic are asked to contact (01642) 854339. There will be a charge for the service.
