A SENSORY garden was opened in Victorian style on Saturday at a nursing home by Redcar MP Vera Baird.
The Hillview Nursing Home in Eston celebrated the opening of the garden, designed to stimulate the senses, with a Victorian-themed party which included a cream teas, a balloon race and stalls.
The BUPA-run home teamed up with a national horticultural charity, Thrive, to develop the garden which is designed specifically to stimulate the senses and includes brightly coloured and highly scented flowers.
Features of the garden include a summerhouse, raised flower beds, a patio area, a water feature and a seating area.
