KART racing driver David Hodgson, from Yarm, made the long journey to Northern Ireland last weekend to compete in the penultimate round of the British Junior Kart Racing Championships.
He was up against tough opposition from all over the UK and Ireland in the very competitive junior gearbox class as part of the Stars of Tomorrow series.
The event, promoted by the Ulster Karting Club, took place at Nutts Corner, near Belfast.
Hodgson took fourth in the early races, which helped him to a place on the third row on the final grid. He eventually finished in the middle of the field, but his overall results have given his championship hopes a boost as he heads towards the final round at Brooklands.
