A GIRLS football club is looking to boost its ranks to secure a place in a league.
Willington Girls, which formed more than a year ago, needs more members to enter two full squads in a Durham areas league.
About 42 youngsters attend Parkside Community Association on Sunday afternoons to train with the eight to 12-year-old or 12 to 16-year-old teams.
After months of friendly matches the girls are keen for regular competitive games.
Coach Stephen Jackson, chairman of Willington Youth and manager of the under-12 boys squad, said: "I also coach junior football at the Spectrum Leisure Centre and a few girls were really keen to get a team up and running.
"It is going well and they enjoy playing, but there is a real competitive edge among the girls and they want to play as a team in a league.
"But we need a few more girls for each age group so a league will take them on. At the moment we're two or three short for each squad."
Anyone in the Wear Valley area who is interested in joining Willington Girls can take part in training tomorrow, from noon to 2pm, or call Mr Jackson on (01388) 746374, or Peter Taylor on (01388) 604476.
