THE sounds, smells and sights of Darlington will be on display in its German twin town later this month.
Local civic dignitaries are heading to Mulheim an der Ruhr for a week-long exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the twinning of the two communities.
And baker Paul Dowson, who works in the Asda store on Whinbush Way, will be serving up a treat for the German hosts when he travels with the Darlington party to take part in the festival.
Performances by local folk singers and street performers will add to the event.
There will also a Darlington tourist information stand and a display depicting the area's historic railway connections.
Councillor Tom Nutt, of the Darlington Town Twinning Association, said:
"This is our chance, in the anniversary year, to promote our town to the people of Mlheim. It has been a busy year for the association and we have enjoyed arranging plans for the visit."
