PEOPLE can learn more about the healthcare services on offer in their district at an open evening later this month.
Staff from the Harrogate Health Care NHS Trust will be on hand at St Aidan's School, in Harrogate, to speak and educate residents of all ages about medical services and developments.
The open evening will be interactive and hands-on, with visitors urged to take part in a number of activities, from testing their stress levels to checking if their hand - eye co-ordination is as good as that of a surgeon.
Visitors will also discover a few secrets about being a medical scientist, for example learning that the sterile maggots of the green bottle fly are being introduced into certain wounds to remove unhealthy tissue and fight infection.
The trust's open evening will be held in the school's Constance Green Hall on Thursday, September 25, from 7pm. The event is free and refreshments and parking are available. For more information contact Gillian Neild on (01423) 554429
