KEVIN Sayers and Lynn Berry are to tie the knot after a whirlpool romance.

The couple are celebrating their engagement after they were brought together during a bubbly encounter in a health club hot tub.

Lynn, 34, a child psychiatric nurse, met Kevin at Greens Health Club in Newcastle and decided to ask him out for a drink.

Kevin, 46, jumped at the chance of date.

Romance soon blossomed and the couple jetted off to Rhodes where Kevin proposed last week - six months after they met.

Lynn said: "When I first joined Greens I was really just looking to get a bit fitter and perhaps make a few new friends. I never dreamt I would meet someone in the jacuzzi - it must be fate.

"We have so much in common, I still can't believe it."

Kevin, who works as a regional director for Burdens Engineering, said: "It can be really difficult to meet someone if you are single, especially when you are working hard and have children.

"But the gym was the perfect place to meet Lynn as we were both relaxed and had time to ourselves.

"It gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. I feel extremely lucky."

The couple, who each have two children, celebrated their engagement by revisiting the place they first met to toast their future together as a new family.

The wedding will take place later in the year at De Vere Slaley Hall, Northumberland, which is a sister company to Greens.
