HOSPITAL bosses have described their delight at the efforts of cyclists who raised more than £10,000 for a neonatal unit.
Dozens of people who took part in a 30-mile ride through the North Yorkshire countryside in May attended a presentation night to see the money handed over to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
The total was about £10,700 and went towards equipment to treat babies with breathing difficulties.
The neonatal unit deals with about 380 admissions a year from across the North-East and North Yorkshire.
The presentation took place at the Dog and Gun pub, in Potto, where cyclists take a break during the annual ride.
Unit manager Martin Boyd said: "Thank you so much, this money will make a real difference."
The ride, which takes in Stokesley, Carlton and Hutton Rudby, has become a major charity event during the past six years.
