A CHARITY cricket match is to be staged to help a woman who suffers from a crippling disease.
Ann Teasdale, 42, of Newton Aycliffe, had to have her leg amputated after contracting the rare condition Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSDS).
She faced losing her other leg but now has some hope after an appeal in her home town raised £30,000 to send her to the US for revolutionary treatment.
Workers from Cam-Tec, security and access control specialists based at Heighington Lane Business Park, and Roman Limited, a shower and bath firm on Aycliffe Industrial Estate, will play the cricket match at Heighington Cricket Ground on Sunday to raise money for her ongoing care and treatment.
The event, which includes a barbecue and bouncy castle, starts at 2pm. Admission is free but donations will be welcomed. Businesses or individuals willing to offer sponsorship should contact Rowan Willans on (01325) 319998.
