SNEAK thieves are targeting vulnerable residents in the Consett area.
In the past two weeks, there have been two sneak-in burglaries in Broadway Drive, Delves Lane, both in bungalows that house elderly people.
The burglaries were during the day and in both cases, the thieves entered through an unlocked front door and stole property from the kitchen.
Another gang is breaking into homes by stealing house keys.
The burglars use a pole with a hook on one end, to push through open windows and grab the keys.
Detective Constable Paul Tallentyre, Derwentside's burglary officer, is appealing for information on all burglaries.
He can be contacted on (01207) 504204.
