THE annual Horticultural and Craft Show takes place at Durham's Gala Theatre at the weekend.
Hundreds of entries have been lodged in 98 classes covering a wide range of garden produce and craft categories, including the traditional showpiece leek section.
Other classes feature flowers, floral art, floristry, cookery, preserves, homemade country wines, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, soft toys, sewing, crafts, and several classes for children's entries.
The show, staged by the city council, runs from 11am to 6pm tomorrow and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday.
Judging is on Saturday, with the prize presentation at 4pm. Admission is 50p for adults, and free for children.
Proceeds are in aid of the Mayor of Durham, Councillor Ray Gibbon's charity appeal in support of the city's volunteer bureau.
