DRIVERS are invited to take advantage of a free crime prevention initiative this weekend.
As part of a joint initiative with Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership, the RAC will be etching registration numbers into vehicle windscreens and glass free of charge at the Tesco car park in Catterick Garrison on Saturday.
North Yorkshire police officers will also attend to offer crime prevention advice.
"In the event of theft, having the glass in your car marked with your registration number greatly increases the chances of getting it back and can also reduce insurance premiums," said Sergeant Richard O'Neil.
The security marking session begins at 10am and runs until 4pm.
