Teesside teenager, Jonathan Cocker, retained his overall fourth position in this weekend's Porsche Carrera Cup GB race at Donington Park.
After qualifying fourth in the sprint race, Cocker had a shaky start which enabled Jason Templeman to pass him early on. Cocker couldn't find a way back past Templeman and ended up finishing the race in fifth position, but fourth on points.
The 17-year-old then overcame problems with his gearbox at the start of the feature race, where he started fifth on the grid, and dropped three places, but managed to claw back two as the race progressed. Drivers Mark Cole and Jeremy Smith tried to keep Cocker behind them but he battled through them both to get to fifth place. With only one lap remaining, Cocker was blocked when trying to pass a back marker, leaving his car spinning, and dropped two places to finish seventh, sixth on points.
With only two rounds remaining, at Oulton Park on September 21, Cocker currently lies in fourth place, 25 points clear of the driver in fifth position.
