After midweek defeat, leaders West Auckland Queens Head returned to winning form.
They had to come from behind after Stephen Emery gave Stanley United the lead. Queens led 2-1 before an own goal made it 2-2 at half time. A second half goal earned Queens Head a 3-2 win with goals from Wayne Nicholson (2) and Darren Wilson.
Rugby Club moved up to second and are the only unbeaten side after a 5-2 victory over Roddymoor. The winning goals came from Alan Jones (2), David Foggin, Dwayne Hinds and an own goal. Roddymoor replied through Barry Thompson and James Ivil.
There was a high scoring encounter at Byers Green where St Peters beat Tow Law Station 6-4. St Peters goals came from Michael Jackson (2), Lee Griffiths, Garreth Jackson, Paul Brownson and Ian Brown. Edward Umpleby (2), Neil Murrell and Michael Owens replied.
Evenwood White Swan led Stanhope Town 3-1 but had to be satisfied with a point when goals from Andrew Sugden (2) and an own goal made it 3-3. League top scorer Gary Dowson (2) and Andrew Lamb were on target for the Swan.
Wearhead United led Howden Australian twice with both goals coming from Kelly Goodfellow. But a goal ten minutes from time saw the Australian win 3-2 with goals coming from Wayne Bryan, Michael Parker and John Connelly.
Anthony Stewart and Stephen Bradwell gave Willington WMC a 2-0 lead at Crook White Swan. Sub Chris Parkinson and Stephen Punshon pulled it back to 2-2 before Stephen Bradwell earned Willington a 3-2 win near the end.
