A NEWLY-FORMED football team is hoping to take the league by storm as it turns out in new kits.
Shildon Town Juniors Under 12s have got together to take part in the Russell Foster Youth League.
The team, which comprises youngsters from Shildon, West Auckland and Newton Aycliffe, have a lot to celebrate already after securing sponsorship deals that will see them through the season.
Enhance Hairdressing in Church Street, Shildon, has provided the boys with new kits, Choice Linen in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, has donated waterproof tops, and Durham county councillor for Shildon John Quigley has given the team £300 from money allocated for the year.
The team practice every Wednesday night on the West Auckland Road playing fields with manager Peter Anable.
Team secretary Andy Summerbell said that they had received generous support since starting out and were looking forward to playing in the league.
