Newfit Services Willington: Byers Green Royal Oak, new to the league this season, maintained their unbeaten record whilst ending the visiting Prospects' Club and knocking the visitors' from the top spot in the table.
Sunnybrow Brown Trout A and Willington Commercial now share the lead by one point over Willington Cottles and the Prospect.
The Royal Oak had singles wins from Alan Sheldon, Malcolm Hughes and Trevor Kerr, with doubles points coming from John Allison with Sheldon and Kerr with Hughes to add to the team game. The Prospect took two singles points through Trevor Bourne, Tommy McAloon and John Glasper with Cark Pearson and Paul Morris adding a doubles point.
Bobby Hall of the Victoria Club hit 180 and 177, Sammy Jackson of the Black Horse Inn hit a maximum as did Stephen Hutchinson of Willington Club. Arthur Goldsborough put in the best finish of the week with a 115 check-out.

Tow Law New Market A maintained their six points lead at the top of the table after they only dropped one point at Tow Law Station. Despite this big win they were unable to increase their lead because the second placed, Tow Law Station managed to share the two trebles with the New Market A but that was the only point they got as Kenneth Atkinson, David Dixon, Bob McFadden, Ray Hayton, Colin Armstrong and John Parkin took all the singles and the doubles.
The leading individual scorers were D. Thornton two 140's for Newhouse, A. Hird 140 and W. Tennant 138 for Dan's Castle and S. Umpelby 140 for the New Market B.

Byers Green Club opened out a five points lead at the top of the table after they only dropped one point to the visiting Crook Surtees. Crook Royal Sun took second place with an away win at Crook Coach and Horses but only lead the third placed, Tow Law Dan's Castle by one point.
The leading individual scorers were Julie Heslop 140 and Betty Chapman 134 and 125 for the Golden Fleece, Margery Miller 134 for Bar 56, Clare Blenkeim and Diane Fleming 132 each for the Brewer's Droop, Marie Hudspeth 131 for the Surtees and Sue Graham 125, Carol Haygarth 124 and Pat Davis 123 for the Olde Horse Shoe.
League secretary, Irene Clark is in hospital for heart surgery and all the players in the league send their best wishes for a speedy recovery. In her absence Gillian Scott will carry out the secretarial duties, with home teams having to telephone her on 762583 with the results by 8.00 p.m. on Friday and to make sure the result card reaches Crook Coach and Hoses by Monday evening.

Ken and Doreen Johnson Memorial
The draw for the Annual Memorial Trophy played in memory of two dedicated darts players from Crook has resulted: Qualifying group to be played on 16 September is Coach and Horses, Queen's Head B, Spitfire Club A, Cricket Club and Spitfire C.
Qualifying group to be played on 23 September is Bar 56, Olde Horse Shoe, Royal Sun Inn, Travellers Rest, Spitfire Club B and Queen's Head A.
There will be two qualifiers from each round with the four teams meeting for the semi-finals and final at Crook Spitfire Club on Tuesday, 23 September. The starting time is 8.00 p.m. for every round.
Weardale Ladies League
Mollie Readman of Hare and Hounds hit a maximum 180 in the first match of the new season. Last season's champions Blue Bell B lost their first game at home to Wolsingham WMC.
