Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League: Sacriston went nap when they entertained Jarrow St Bedes and after establishing a two goals interval lead the home side never looked back.
Scott Embleton and Stephen Clifford found the target in the first period and Sacriston went five goals in front through Mark Bird, Dave Dowdy and Embleton before John Smith claimed a consolation goal for Jarrow St Bedes.
Lumley were not far behind Sacriston in the scoring stakes and they put four goals past Ryhope who replied once.
Lumley's hero was newcomer Ithel Manson who rifled all four goals. The Cestrians were three goals ahead at the halfway stage and Ryhope's only reply came in the second period from Kyle Dinsdale.
Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League
Blackfyne suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Whitley Bay despite holding the visitors to a draw at the halfway stage.
Steven Dover scored for Blackfyne and Mark Minto for Whitley Bay in the opening half, but in the second period the visitors had the better of the exchanges and comfortably won with further goals by Minto and Alex Thompson (2).
Walker Central also won by a 4-1 margin visiting West Denton and in this game also the score was 1-1 at the interval.
Stephen Dodd struck for West Denton and Shaun Quinn for Walker Central in the opening 45 minutes. Quinn went on to complete the hat-trick and John McDonough also netted for Walker Central.
The result was closer when New Hartley entertained North Tyneside College and secure a 3-2 victory after leading 2-1 at the halfway point, New Hartley ended winners with strikes by Michael Latimer, Mark Grant and James Brown. Stuart Nicholson and Billy Barrass replied for the College.
In the other game to be played at the weekend newcomers to the league Seaham Red Star ran out 9-0 winners at Prudhoe.
Coxhoe Athletic Juniors
Coxhoe start their league programme on Sunday at home to last year's runner up Washington Dunlop.

New County North Durham Youth League
Birtley suffered a 5-0 defeat at home to Leam Rangers for whom Lee Turnbull scored a hat-trick in the Under-16 division.
Cleveland Hall romped to a 9-0 success when they entertained Rutherford with most of the goals coming from Jason Clifford (4) and Anthony Reay with a hat-trick.
Lee Craggs was another player to score three times as Blaydon put five goals past Consett, another side who failed to score once.
Redheugh managed one goal visiting South Moor but still lost 5-1 when Clark Coulson bagged a brace for South Moor.
At Under-17 level Birtley did much better than their U16 counterparts and raced to a 9-0 victory at Rutherford where David Milnes scored no fewer than seven goals. Paul Jackson was another player in scoring form hitting the net four times as Red House ended 6-0 ahead of Consett and two goals apiece by Scott Reay and Chris Morris enabled Cleveland Hall to defeat Blackfyne 5-2.
In the remaining fixture Redheugh collected the points with a 2-0 success at Winlaton.
Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth
A hat-trick by Connor Stafford featured in a 4-0 victory for Low Fell at Beamish in the Under-11 division. Ben Ferguson scored twice as Blackfyne ended 4-2 in front of Winlaton and Joel Wilson (4) and Jack Giubson (2) (correct) scored most of the goals as Whickham Fellside Y hit Ryton with a 9-1 defeat.
An only goal was sufficient for Whickham Fellside Greens at home to South Moor and Low Fell C edged Consett 4-2.
Goals were a lot more plentiful when Leam Rangers entertained Swalwell and won 9-1. Jack Harbison and Josh Allen both struck hat-tricks and Mark Burns bagged a brace of goals for Leam Rangers.
Chris Hughes and Lewis Meach both scored twice as Leam Rangers Greens defeated Redheugh 7-1 and Stocksfield enjoyed a 9-1 romp at Blaydon.
In the Under-12 division Kris Hall struck four times as Leam Rangers defeated Ryton 6-1 while Winlaton had a 5-0 home success over Beamish. Consett and Felling drew 1-1 while Redheugh reached double figures in their home fixture with Blaydon who failed to reply.
Cameron Laws was twice on target in Cleveland Hall's 3-1 defeat of Prudhoe Town. In the Under-13 section Leam Rangers Yellows defeated Leam Rangers Green 3-1 when Dean Martin scored twice for Yellows.
Cleveland Hall ended 5-3 in front of Consett while Washington Oxclose Rangers and Blackfyne shared six goals.
Adam Gibson was five times on target as Low Fell
hammered Blaydon 9-0 and Chopwell finished 8-0 in front of Swalwell when Lee Best struck a hat-trick.
In the remaining game Rutherford just had the advantage on Redheugh winning by the odd goal in five.
In the Under-14 division Consett defeated Low Fell B 6-2, Blaydon visited Low Fell C and ended 4-1 ahead while Cleveland Hall were easy winners over South Moor when Robert Allen scored four times in a 7-0 victory. Leam Rangers took the points from Winlaton with a 4-2 win.
In the Under-15 section Tony Rutter scored four times and Paul Lynch twice as South Moor defeated Beamish 6-2 and Cleveland Hall enjoyed a 5-2 victory at Blaydon.
Leam Rangers had the advantage on Consett ending 4-3 in front.
Coxhoe Boys
The Under-15s carried their excellent pre-season form into the League when they got the new season off to a spectacular start, scoring 15 goals without reply against South Tyneside outfit Real Athletic.
Bobby Orton's side played some good football and deserved Sunday's win, despite the opposition keeper doing his best to stop the onslaught.
Michael Owens had a relatively barren spell in the pre-season friendlies but he was back on form, hitting six of the goals while Ben Raine got the season underway with a hat-trick. Jamie Lawson bagged a brace while others scorers were John Dodds, Shane Gavin, Michael Roberts and Nathan Ward who got on the scoresheet with a tremendous 30-yard free-kick.
The previous Friday saw Coxhoe complete their pre-season programme with a 3-0 win over Fishburn and the two warm-up preceeding matches saw Coxhoe overcome Premier side, Durham County Boys 3-1 and Shildon 6-2.
