Boosbeck Utd v Grosmont: Boosbeck found themselves trailing after only six minutes.
A break from the right created a misunderstanding in the Boosbeck Defence allowing Grosmont to take the lead through Dave Ross. Boosbeck settled and began to play some slick football, Slater played in Brown for him to pass to Winter for him to score from close range. A second goal quickly followed when Slater once again found Brown who successfully netted the ball.
Boosbeck were one in control of the game with Thompson and Brown dominating midfield. A break down the left saw Al-Dick hit a shot against the cross bar the rebound falling for a Grosmont palyer who knocked it out for a corner, this resulted in Boosbeck's third from Johnson. Johnson scored again just before half time, once again from a Slater cross. Boosbeck continued to dominate the scond half with Dobson and Coleman outstanding in defence. The fifth goal came when Parry played an inch perfect pass to Winter for him to net his second. At the other end a great save from Myers prevented Grosmont adding to their score and then duane Jeffrey did likewise to thwart Johnson's hat trick. Final score 5-1.
Highland Laddie v Brotton WMC
After a lively start Laddie settled first and took control, Nesbitt and Kandel combining well for Combellack, whose shot went wide. Brown went close for Brotton, who were now coming into the game and after a free kick from the right Brown scored from 20 yards. This renewed Ladddie's efforts. A nice 1 -2 between Kandel and Lowther, then a magnificent solo run by Kandel saw the game level at half time.Laddie continued to press in the second half with Neesam and Burns controllong the midfield, but again it was Brotton who scored after a mix up at the back let in Ormerod to give Brotton a 2 - 1 lead. Laddie continued to push forward and after several excellent saves by Townend in the Brotton goal, Combellack eventually got the equaliser with a nice lob.
Brotton were now under constant pressure and after a number of corners Kandel grabbed his second, Laddies third for the visitors to take the points.
Hinderwell v Lingdale Tavern
With the Tavern having had a big win mid week, Hinderwell knew they would have to defend well and were under pressure from the start with Ben Robinson having to make some good saves from Breckon and Ward. Hinderwell battled hard to keep Tavern at bay with Clennan nd Morrison working well down the right, making chances for Harvey up front. However on 20 minutes Ball made a run down the left to play Shane Breckon through to score Lingdale's first and 2 minutes later Breckon scored again when his cross from the right dropped in at the far post. With Tavern now in control Ball broke free to score the third then Ward beat the off side trap to make it 4 - 0 at half time.
Hinderwell began the second half defending again and but from some heroic goalkeeping by Robinson they would have soon been further behind. The constant pressure took it's toll and with Shane Breckon in great form at the front, first setting up Ward for his second then Dane Breckon and Thompson to make it seven, then completing his own hat-trick in the 77th minute, when Ward put him through. Breckon then returned the favour, Ward also completing his hat trick. In the last ten minutes Thompson took the score to ten before Breckon scored twice more to take his tally to five and Lingdale's to 12.
Lingdale Utd v Annandale
The game started at a brisk pace. Lingdale came close with a cracking shot from Fordor, but the Annandale keeper made agreat save, then in the 20th minute Iseton had a chance with a header from 6 yards, the ball narrowly going wide. A third attempt, when Dowd made a great run, beating three defenders and hitting a great volley, was again thwarted by the Annandale keeper. The half goalless although Lingdale were proving to be the stronger team. Annadale came close to scoring early in the second half with a fierce shot which was knocked over the bar by Boosbeck keeper, Thrower. Lingdale opened the scoring in the 65th minute when Allan swung in a great corner kick Whitehead heading in from close range. Annandale began to pressurise in an attempt to equalise and narrowly missed the target on 2 occassions before they levelled on 80 minutes after the Lingdale defence failed to clear a corner and were punishedc with a crisp shot from close range. The game with honours even. A good game well refereed by Geoff Nelson.
Loftus Ath v Black Swan
A tight first half saw just one goal with J.Wilson giving Loftus the advantage. Within 2 minutes of the restart a second headed goal from J.Wilson took Loftus further ahead. A few minutes laer Black Swan pulled one back when Smith successfully converted a disputed penalty. Midway through the half a nasty head injury to Midgley, forced Loftus to reshuffle. Sub C.Wilson made his presence felt with two goals to make it 4-1 before a good finish from Smith brought Black Swan back into the game.
Their efforts were to no avail however as man of the match C. Wilson completed hos hat trick after only 20 minutes on the pitch, Loftus taking the points in a match sponsored by Bells Butchers.
