ARTHUR Jackson defeated Gordon Cripps 3-1 to win the Bilsdale Short Mat Bowling Club singles final held on September 3.
The trophies were presented by Gladys Garbutt on behalf of the chairman, George Cook.
The club has been running for eight years and is affiliated to the North Yorkshire Short Mat Bowling Association. It has 18 members and several have already been successful in external competitions.
Practice meetings are held every Wednesday in Chop Gate Village Hall, in addition to Kyle Valley League East competition matches during the winter months.
Bilsdale's first league match is on Monday, September 22 at home to Hambleton C. Prospective new members can obtain further information from the Bilsdale chairman and captain, George Cook, on 01642 778368.
