A DRIVER who was more than three times over the drink-drive limit gave his brother's name when he was stopped by police, a court heard yesterday.
David Stephen Russell, 53, of Hammond Drive, Darlington, even turned up to a court appearance under his brother's name, but then admitted he had given false details.
He was banned from driving for five years at South Durham Magistrates Court in Darlington yesterday after admitting drink driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and insurance, and obstructing a police officer in his duty.
Russell was also given 100 hours of community punishment and two years of community rehabilitation. He was ordered to pay £60 costs.
