POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 15-year-old boy who has gone missing.
Lee Urwin, who has learning difficulties and lives at a foster home in Ryton, Gateshead, has not been seen since 3.45pm on Tuesday.
He was seen by a friend at a disused railway line, known as the Dilly Line, in Ryton.
He said he was heading home, but was seen at the MetroCentre, and was believed to have got there by bus.
Police yesterday mounted a search involving the air unit, dog unit and territorial support officers.
Lee, a pupil at Ryton Comprehensive, was wearing a school uniform of grey trousers, blue shirt, navy jumper and navy fleece. He has short brown hair.
