A MAN who left a reveller seriously injured after hearing his girlfriend described as a Teletubby has walked free from court.
Michael Barthram punched John Woods after he allegedly made the remark during a chance encounter in Newcastle.
The blow felled Mr Woods, who suffered a fractured skull and brain damage when his head hit the pavement, the city's Crown Court heard.
Mr Barthram, 35, of Chesham Green, North Kenton, Newcastle, denied causing grievous bodily harm in January this year and a jury took less than half an hour to clear him.
He admitted punching Mr Woods in the face but said he had acted in self-defence, fearing he was about to be attacked and had fled the scene after being assaulted by a group of men.
Mr Woods was left with memory loss, depression and blurred vision.
