ANYONE who would like to play a part bringing musical events to Leyburn is welcome at a meeting at the town's Thornborough Hall next week.
The Leyburn Band regularly performed in the town until a lack of musicians led to its demise a few years ago.
However, new trustees have been appointed and hope to revive the band, both by tapping into existing talent and encouraging others to learn an instrument.
"We want to encourage anyone to have a go," said chairman Gordon Walker.
"We'll be offering tuition to anyone - whether they're youngsters at school or people of any age who would like to learn an instrument."
The band already has some instruments and some funds accumulated in the past.
John Nix - a former member with bands such as Grimethorpe and Hammonds Sauce Works - will take on the role of band master and provide and co-ordinate tuition.
The meeting for potential members will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Anyone who wants more information about joining the band is asked to call (01969) 622996.
