HUBY'S John Robinson has won an individual silver medal and a team gold medal at the Home International Olympic Skeet (clay target) event held recently at the Commonwealth Games venue at Bisley, Surrey.
Robinson, a former Commonwealth gold medal winner sponsored by Masham-based livestock care and management specialist Ritchey Tagg, scored 97 out of a possible 100 in a sudden death shoot-off and was beaten to the individual gold by just one clay.
He was also a member of the successful ten-man England team which won a gold medal with a record score of 95.6 targets per team member.
The Home International involves teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as the Republic of Ireland. A member of the England clay shooting team since 1989, it was Robinson's 22nd cap for his country.
His shooting successes in recent years culminated in being ranked number one in Great Britain when he won the gold medal for his individual shooting at the British Grand Prix in 2000, as well as gold and silver medals at the 2000 European and Commonwealth championships.
Robinson is UK sales and marketing manager for Ritchey Tagg.
