A STAINED glass window has been donated to a church in Hartlepool.
It will be the first stained glass window to be fitted in the Church of James the Apostle, where renovation work has been planned for some time.
The window was given to the church by the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op's funeral home Strathmore House.
A spokesman said it was a feature of Strathmore House for more than 30 years.
It had originally been rescued from a church in North Road, Darlington, which was due to be demolished.
However, following a recent £700,000 scheme to modernise the home, there was no longer a place for the window so staff contacted Father Matthew Iveson who accepted it for the church where it will be preserved for generations.
