In the premier division Ferryhill Greyhound recorded their third successive win and now are clear leaders.
They defeated newly promoted side Darlington Croft 2-0 at home. Stan Cummings gave them a first half lead with a solo effort which ended with a fine shot which gave the keeper no chance. The restart saw Willie Taylor score to settle the issue 2-0 to Ferryhill.
Norton Stockton have not yet been able to field a full strength side. They lost 3-1 away to Penshaw Catholic in a game which Penshaw put away their chances and Norton did not.
In division one Glaxo drew 1-1 at home to Newton Aycliffe. The first half finished goalless with chances missed by both sides. The restart saw chances missed again but Rycliffe took the lead when they took advantage of a goalkeeping error. Eventually Glaxo levelled when a free kick from Keith Hodgson hit the bar and the rebound was headed home by Geoff Bannister.
Consett were in fine form winning 4-1 away to Moor House. Leading 2-0 at the interval Consett always had the edge and two further goals after the restart virtually settled the issue before Moor House pulled one back courtesy of an own goal. Scorers were Peacock (2), Billy Thompson and Geoff Askew. Consett lost George Murray after 15 minutes through a cut leg. Over-40s wish him a speedy recovery.
In division two Darlington Railway gained a welcome point by drawing away from home with Hebburn DT.
The favourites for promotion Langley Park Rams Head slipped up by drawing 1-1 at home to a very useful Billingham Town side. The Rams led 1-0 at the break but were unable to increase their lead through the visitors solid defence. The restart saw end to end football before Billingham grabbed a point when in the last minute Colin Liddle power headed home a cross from Steve Cooper.
Wynyard Vets drew 2-2 at home to Barnes Hotel with the first half belonging to Vets who led 2-0 courtesy of Alan Jackson and Freddie Surplus but the second was Barnes who fought back superbly to score twice and finish 2-2 level terms.
Division three saw Crook Town lose 1-3 away to Regency Windows. West Cornforth lost 2-1 at home to Toll Bar who always had the slight edge.
Taylors lead the division winning at home 2-1 against Durham C Strollers. Durham lost Paul Gillespie who fell and was taken to hospital, he has now recovered.
Wynyard Old Boys continued their unbeaten run and are in seventh place. They drew 2-2 away to South Shields Marsden Vets who were first to score but OB came back strongly and equalised only for Vets to regain the lead on half time. The restart saw both sides going close. Despite heavy pressure OBs' defence held firm and they fought back and scored to level the game 2-2 and earn a share of the points.
Thornley Celtic won 3-2 at home against Steels FC in a close exciting game.
