THE fruits of months of hard work by the region's gardeners have gone on show.
The four-day autumn Harrogate Flower Show, at the Great Yorkshire Showground, effectively brings the flower show season to a close.
The warm dry summer has not been kind to everyone - roses, for example, need more rain to be at their best.
But this year's event also incorporates the National Vegetable Society Championships, and competitors have really benefited from the conditions over the past few months.
"We're also expecting a forest of bonsai trees this year," said spokeswoman Mary Bond. "We had 300 last year but, with 400 arriving this year, we can claim to have the biggest bonsai show in Europe."
Gates open at the Great Yorkshire Showground at 9.30am today and tomorrow. Admission is £10.
