ABORIGINE Francis Firebrace gave Darlington children a fascinating insight into another culture yesterday.
He paid a visit to the town's Heathfield Primary School to teach pupils about the Aboriginal way of life.
Mr Firebrace spent the first seven years of his life in the Australian bush before moving to the UK.
Yesterday, there were several activities for the children, including story-telling, painting and a kangaroo dance.
They were also taught about the clothing of the Aborigines - how their red-loin cloths were a gift from the British, made from ships' sails, and how their cloaks are made of possum skin.
Teacher Judith Hamilton said: "It was his first time here, but we definitely hope he will be coming back."
