PEOPLE are being warned to watch out for major changes to a road layout.
Roadworks at the south end of the Tyne Bridge, Newcastle, are expected to be completed on Monday, which will mean an end to delays, but some important changes to the road layout.
Southbound traffic crossing the bridge that used to stay in the right lane for the A1 and the Gateshead MetroCentre will now keep in the left lane.
Northbound traffic heading for East Gateshead or the Gateshead Quays will filter in the right lane, so motorists heading for the Tyne Bridge should stay in the central and left lanes only.
Gateshead Council member David Bollands said: "This has been a long and complicated job and we have worked hard to minimise inconvenience to motorists."
