AN all-star line-up will bring the curtain down on a highly successful folk festival tonight.
Now in its fourth year, Trimdon Festival is becoming an established event on the folk circuit in the region, attracting big name stars including Lonnie Donegan, Kate Rusby and Lindisfarne.
This year's headline act is The Benny Gallagher Band, featuring one half of hit-makers Gallagher and Lyle.
The duo had a string of hits in the 1970s, including Heart on my Sleeve and I Wanna Stay With You.
His band includes a former keyboard player with The Kinks, Eric Clapton's drummer and a guitarist for James Taylor.
Comedy duo Maxi and Mitch will provide light relief for the audience ahead of the main act.
The evening also includes a performance from Slovakian bluegrass band Vodopad, who have received rave reviews all over Europe.
The seven-piece country outfit includes a renowned banjo player and an exponent of the dobra, or slide guitar.
The band played at Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday, watched by Steve Philips, of Mark Knopfler's Notting Hill Billies, who gave his seal of approval.
The week-long festival has received national coverage this year for its inclusion of the World Spoon Playing Championships, which took place last week.
Organiser Peter Brookes said: "It's been another successful year and we've had some good nights."
The final event of the festival takes place in Trimdon Labour Club, from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £10, can be bought on the door.
