A YORK student is in with a chance of following in the footsteps of Richmond's Tanya Robinson.

Hayley Copsey has made it into the last 100 in FHM magazine's High Street Honeys competition, which offers fame and fortune to undiscovered girls next door.

Tanya was already Miss Blackpool when she won the UK round of the competition in February, prompting one of the town's pubs to change its name in her honour.

The Fleece, in Victoria Road, became Tanya's Charms, complete with a cheeky sign to illustrate just what they were.

Complaints from locals, however, prompted the management of the pub to revert to the former name.

Now 20-year-old Hayley, who is studying drama, has a shot at the same sort of star treatment.

She has already won the Miss Yorkshire title, which gives her the chance to compete for the title of Miss England.

Success in the High Street Honeys competition would also see her pitted against girls chosen for the Bikini Heaven finals by FHM readers from across the globe.

Hayley said: "Everything is happening so quickly.

"I entered the Miss Yorkshire competition online, and found out that I had won a few hours later.

"I am looking forward to the next round but I do not really know what to think. It has not sunk in yet."

Anyone who would like to vote for Hayley in FHM's High Street Honeys competition can do so at www.fhm.com, while more details about the Miss England contest are available by logging on to www.missengland.info/index.php

Voting for the latter opens today.
