COMMUNITY groups from across York will be taking part in a colourful city centre parade on Wednesday, September 24.
As part of the city's Without Walls initiative, the lively procession will feature representatives from local organisations.
Many of the marchers will be in bright costumes and will carry banners highlighting their hopes for the future of York.
Starting at the Mansion House at 3.30pm, the parade will finish at the Barbican Centre, where exhibits and stalls will be available to the public to showcase the work of the participating groups.
Without Walls is York's local strategic partnership, which aims to create a blueprint for the city for the next 20 years.
Parade organiser Andy Milson said: "The procession and exhibition will be a very visible and fun way to highlight the many hard-working community groups in York and how they are contributing to the exciting debate about our city's future."
