TWO communities are launching websites today.
Easby, near Richmond, and Littlethorpe, near Ripon, will be part of the new Local Channel Network, which aims to link 10,000 parishes across the UK, giving each an online source of local information.
Anyone who wants to get involved can contribute to each community website.
The Local Channel's community director, Patrick Abrahams, said: "We want the new websites to be at the heart of the community, the first port of call for any local information and a barometer on local opinion.
"As the site develops and attracts more and more people in your community, it will strengthen the two-way flow of communication, improve the democratic process and strengthen the community."
Communities are not charged for the websites and receive 15 per cent of advertising revenue.
Business are charged £2 a week to advertise.
