THE new co-ordinator of Ferryhill's youth caf says she us looking forward to working with the town's young people.
Julia Rowcroft is full of ideas about how to develop the e.caf, which will provide a drop-in facility in the evenings and at weekends.
There will also be project work on Thursdays and karaoke sessions on Sundays.
As well as mainstream education, Mrs Rowcroft and her team are hoping to develop youth mentors and provide training and alternative education.
Fundraising activities are helping to pay for residential exchange visits abroad, with the help of the Prince's Trust. Contributions from local companies would also be welcomed.
Mrs Rowcroft will be visiting schools to tell them about the services on offer.
She also does detached youth work in Ferryhill, for young people who do not want to use the services.
The e.caf has been awarded £1,050 from the Sedgefield area committee to help reduce anti-social behaviour.
The money will help to fund a youth worker and auxiliary worker for one day a week.
For details about the e.caf call Mrs Rowcroft on (01388) 827443 or 420144.
