A £155,000 community centre will be opened by a star from TV series Heartbeat on Saturday.
Derek Fowlds, who played Sergeant Oscar Blaketon in the show, will open the facility in a former police house in Little Market Place, Masham, North Yorkshire, at 2pm.
The office has been transformed to provide facilities for residents and visitors, including a tourist information point, a learning centre and meeting rooms.
It also provides a point of contact for the police.
Chief superintendent Andy Parker, commander of the western area of North Yorkshire Police, said: "It is vital that, although we cannot feasibly run a police house like it used to be, we retain a link with the community of Masham and the surrounding areas.
"People must know that there is somewhere they can contact our officers, and the community office is an excellent solution for all concerned."
A community care scheme led by Ripon Council for Voluntary Service will also be run from the office, as well as a pre-school playgroup and after-school club.
