A kerbside paper collection scheme in the Hambleton area has been extended to a further 8,500 properties.
Yorwaste is now involved in the collection of paper from 28,500 homes.
The collections started on September 10 and take place across the district, including Hutton Rudby, Crathorne, Burneston and Sutton-under-Forest.
Yorwaste recycling manager John Miller said: "Hambleton is our best performing area with regard to the collection of paper and residents who have been served by the scheme for the past 18 months have really played their part in helping the environment and reducing waste that goes to landfill."
The scheme has resulted in five tonnes of paper being collected a day.
