Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were hurt in a car collision on the A1085 trunk road, in Eston.
It involved a Nissan Patrol and a Nissan Micra near the junction of Eston Recreation Ground, at 12.10am on Sunday. The Patrol driver was uninjured, but the 38-year-old Micra driver, from Eston, suffered two broken ribs and the 12-year-old passenger, also from Eston, suffered cuts to the head. MAN INJURED: Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident on Friday, which left a man with a broken jaw. The disturbance, which involved several people, happened shortly after 11pm near the junction of Redcar Lane and Lord Street, in Redcar, and moved on to Lord Street, outside the Priory Club. A 20-year-old male was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment to a fractured jaw. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact Sergeant Janet Fraser on (01642) 302 626.
SINGING SUPPORT: Aspiring pop stars are being offered the chance to join a free performance skills course that includes stagecraft and microphone techniques. A song writing course is also available from the Redcar and Cleveland City Learning Centre. Call (01642) 467138 for more information.
TRAFFIC lIGHTS: Temporary traffic lights are in place on A174 Grinkle Lane, Easington, for two weeks while Northumbrian Water carries out urgent repairs to a water main. They are also operating in Redcar Road and Bolkow Street, in Guisborough, for two weeks while the company carries out service connection work.
HAUNTED HEADLAND: An evening walk which promises plenty of tall tales, myths and ghostly goings on takes place on Monday, at 6.30pm, on Hartlepool Headland. BUILDING BLAZE: Doors and windows were destroyed by fire at the back of a building, in Slater Street, Hartlepool on Sunday. Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze at about 3.30pm.
