THREE free country walks are being organised by ramblers in Barnard Castle.
The first will start from Mickleton station car park at 10.30am on Saturday.
It will cover an easy seven miles, taking in Romaldkirk Moor, Botany and Lunedale. Those taking part are advised to take a picnic lunch.
The second walk will start at the main gate of the John and Josephine Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle at 12.30pm on Monday.
It will cover five miles by way of Egglestone Abbey, where a picnic lunch will be taken, before going on to Thorsgill Wood.
The third walk starts from the Hagg car park, Cotherstone, at 10am on Saturday, September 27. The five-mile trip will take in Baldersdale and Cotherstone Moor. Walkers will count elm trees for the Natural History Museum.
